Grow Glass

Grow Glass is a modular deployment system for the AMPS green wall developed at CASE, RPI in partnership with SOM. This system cleans the air around it by filtering it through the rhizome of the golden pothos plant. The Grow Glass module puts all of this exciting science on display with its transparent structure.
The Grow Glass modules are produced through vacuum forming corn plastic, producing a clear, almost crystalline form when aggregated.
A module designed both to hold plants and be robust structure (as a space frame) presents opportunities for small enclosures that can act as portable vertical farms.
Working in conjunction with the AMPS (Active Modular Phytoremediation System) project, the grow glass module can be deployed in New York City as an alternative food cart to clean polluted air and provide fresh greenery and food.
